Consul General Menekşe Onuk was born in Mersin in 1983. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies in International Relations at Bilkent University, Ankara.

She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2007. Between 2008 and 2010, she served as Attaché at the Deputy Directorate General for Protocol. From 2010 to 2012, she was posted as Third Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bogota, Colombia. She subsequently served as Vice Consul and Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Salzburg, Austria (2012-2015). Following her overseas assignments, Mrs. Onuk worked as Head of Unit and Acting Head of Department at the Deputy Directorate General for Personnel. From 2018 to 2022, she was posted as Counsellor at thePermanent Mission of the Republic of Türkiye to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland. She later assumed the position of Head of Department at the Directorate General for Personnel.

On 15 September 2025, Mrs. Onuk assumed her duties as Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Los Angeles.

She is married and has one child.
